About

Michael and Wendy met in 1992 at a club on Naval Submarine Base Bangor in Washington state.  Wendy was a Navy brat and Michael was a Submariner.  They married 1 year later on the anniversary of their meeting.  Michael got out of the Navy at the end of his enlistment and after the birth of their first Child in 1995.  After a break, and just before the birth of their second child in 1999 he enlisted in the Army as a Forward Observer where he served in multiple combat deployments rising to the rank of Sergeant First Class. Through two more children in 2003 and 2007, 3 wars, 7 years stationed in Europe, 2 1/2 years in iraq, a year in the Balkins and a year in Afghanistan, many injuries and 13 “explosive events”, the Army medically retired him in December 2012 after over 22 years.

With now 30+ years of marriage Michael and Wendy (with God) have survived:

Separation, Death, Loss, Accusations of infidelity, Many episodes of Illness and Injury including life threatening and life changing, Suicide Attempts, Loss of a Child, Drug and Alcohol Misuse and Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Secondary Trauma and Role Changes.

They hope to share these struggles from both perspectives and illuminate how exposing those trials to the Light of Jesus brought an undeniable source of strength and freedom so those who walk through this may gain perspective and have hope and find freedom.
